Polling was peaceful in the four assembly segments of the district on Thursday. Voters were seen anxious to exercise their franchise while they were standing in long queues. Nabarangpur district records 81.21 per cent polling. Significantly the district administration organised Model polling station at Ex-board UP School for a special treatment initiative to ensure that the first-time voters get encouraged to take part in the electoral process of the biggest democracy of the world. While a well decorated gate welcomed the voters at the entrance of Ex-board school polling station, the youths were given warm welcome inside the booths that also make them feel happy and memorable day for all of them. The District Collector and district election officer (DEO) Md. Sadique Alam, presented flower bouquets to first five voters of the morning Sabita Kumari Nanda, D. Sarada, Niranjan Nayak, Hrusikesh Sahu, and P.M.Raju, at the school. Among others sub-collector Parikhit Seth, DIPRO Bhujang Bhusan Rao, and surendra Dash present.
